Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston was forced to put Angelica Hale on ECMO Life-Support because she required life-saving medical treatments. The patient became septic and suffered several organ failures, including her kidneys which did not heal. It was then a routine of hemodialysis followed by peritoneal dilution. After 80 days of hospitalization, from the point where she was close to death, and began the long road back to healthy. Life was forever altered. Angelica's life forever changed after she underwent kidney dialysis. The donor kidney would come from her mother. Angelica Hale had a successful renal transplantation with her mother on the 13th September 2013. The surgery was performed at Emory University Hospital, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale pursued her dream to become a famous person ever since.
