Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri is an Indian actress who achieved recognition for her performance in Hum Aapke Hain Koun as well as Beta Saajan. In the late 80s, she began acting and was a hit with her part of Tezaab. In the film, she starred alongside famous actor Anil Kapooor. She next appeared in the film Dil where she co-starred on the screen with Aamir Khan. She was born into a Mumbai middle-class family, and began dancing at a young age. Her first attempt at acting was as an early child and struggled for a few years as most of her initial films had a bad reputation. She found fame and became one of the top film actresses. Following her marriage her husband died, she took time off from acting until she returned. In recent times, she was the main character in Gulaab Gang about Indian women. Dixit has been nominated for the fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Dixit was also awarded the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. Her contribution to the social industry is widely known.
